First Week of Quarantine Reflections

Being quarantined for the first time in my life (our lives) has caused much reflection. I live my life by "Everything Happens for a Reason." Sometimes that reason is revealed to us, other times not. It may be a matter of opening our eyes and ears to see and hear the reason.

Just a few weeks ago, we were going about our busy lives. As a Professional in Education, burn out from the school year was settling in, and I was witnessing it in others. This is all very normal at this time of year. Regardless, I tried to do my part to remain motivational and strong while struggling to keep my head above the water.

Last Friday, we announced we were closing school for a few weeks to the staff and families. That feels like a month ago. But, fast forwarding to today, I'd welcome, rolling my tired body out of bed (I'm not a morning person, in fact I have a dishtowel that says "a Funny thing to do in the morning is to Not talk to me"). After grabbing my coffee and putting on my Big girl pants, I'd welcome going to work to be with the people in person (not via zoom) that fill me daily. Our interactions both good and tense motivate me. We are a Team working together to help improve the lives of our students, encouraging them to be as independent as possible.

I would give anything to be at the school busses right now greeting each smile, scowl, sleepy, cheerful face as they walk off the bus to find their lines. And those cheerful Bus Drivers? Don't even get me started with those Gems.❤️

So everything happens for a reason. What I was drowning in a few weeks ago, now today sounds like Bliss. I've learned a lot this week about humanity and how we should be:

Grateful, Thankful, Appreciative, not Wasteful, Giving, Loving, Reflective, Faithful, Trusting, while 6 ft apart for the time being.

We all have Crooked Crowns because of what life has given to us. But, we also have a choice- Choose to wear your Crooked Crown Courageously and Graciously. Help someone fix their Crooked Crown along the way.

Perhaps Your Crown is Crooked for just that Reason.

The trial that made it Crooked was painful, but you can choose to use it for Good.

Peacing out for now.

Stay Healthy in body and mind, stay Courageous and Strong,

Kath
